Happy Birthday to me. Instead of waiting until New Year’s to post my resolutions I am posting my list of things I want to accomplish before my next birthday. 365 days, 20 goals. Ready. Set. Go.
1. Read a book month – First up, Hunger Games, The Help, Water For Elephants and Jenny Lawson’s new book, Let’s Pretend This Never Happened. I just downloaded the Kindle app for my phone and I love it. I also want to get involved in my book club again. That pretty much puts the peer pressure on.
2. Quit my job - Yep. I love the people I work with but I need to be focusing on Music 4 More full time. A lot of things have to align for me to pull this off but I am confident that this is the year.
3. Lose 100 lbs. – I am 35lbs into this goal and recently took some life changing steps to ensure it happens. Can’t wait to see the results for this one.
4. Run a 5k – I done 5K’s before but I haven’t actually RUN the whole thing.
5. Go to the Olympics in London – I applied to work them as a volunteer. Still waiting to hear about that one. But I am going regardless and taking Heather my traveling buddy to explore as much as possible while we are there.
- A subheading under this one is to see Michael Phelps swim while in London. I will be adding a few more goals or this trip as it gets a little closer.
6. See Paul McCartney, James Taylor or the Doobie Brothers in concert – ya know, before they die.
7. Go to a new ballpark – I have been to 15 so far, all on the East Coast/MidWest. It’s been a couple years since I have crossed one of my life list. Time to check out a new one.
8. Go to at least 2 new states – I am betting that Cali is going to be one of them.
9. Buy a pair of cowboy boots – nuff said.
10. Take a flying lesson. Yes, in a plane.
11. Cuss less – Don’t get me wrong. I love to drop the f*bomb. The problem is I do it too much at work. So I am trying to cut back.
12. Go camping & white water rafting – this has been on my list for years and I just never make the time to do it.
13. Take my niece to Disney World
14. Go to Harry Potter World
15. Get a dog. – This one is scheduled for the end of the year. After I quit my job and go to London. Not sure what kind yet. But small, and cute.
16. Perfect my pie recipe – This won’t help my losing 100lbs goal but I will just ask for some help from my friends and co-workers for the critiques and tastings.
17. Make at least 5 projects that I find on Pinterest. I need to justify my addiction somehow.
18. Post on my blog at least once a week. – We will see how well this goes.
19. Take more photos – I think I am getting a new camera for Christmas. Mine broke a few months back so I have been without. I am contemplating starting the photo a day project for 2012.
20. Go to the beach – I know this sounds lame since the beach is less than 2 hours away from me, but I actually went the last 2 summers without making a trip out there.
I will start with those but I am sure I will add some more. Let’s see how the next 365 days play out. I have a lot of work to do!
Days off in Nashville = Lots of time to eat!!
